About Aerospool and LX Aviation
Aerospool has been building aeroplanes for nearly 35 years having started building parts for gliders as a sub-contractor. The initial dealer for the UK began trading some 10 years later and sold some 17 aircraft to UK based customers.
LX Aviation took on the agency in 2017 when the Dynamic LSA was launched.
As of August 2025, Aerospool has constructed over 1,000 WT9 Dynamics of various versions. Could you be the person earmarked for the next one? The latest variant of this highly successful design is Variant 7, this being the WT9 600NG.
The Dynamic Story
Aerospool was founded in 1991, shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and quickly established a reputation for high quality work as a sub-contractor to a major German glider manufacturer. As experience was gained the company branched out into the design and manufacture of ultralight powered aircraft and the WT9 (Dynamic) is the current design, albeit much developed from the early examples of the WT9 type.
As you are bound to ask the question, the answer is that the designation WT are the designer’s initials, Tadeus Wala, reversed. (He was aged 94 on 27th January 2025 and remains an active pilot.)
Coming soon, with its first flight due in Spring 2026. The developed version of the kit build Advantic with 4 seats, powered by a Rotax 916 and with retracting gear – below. MTOW – 950kg .

The designer of the WT series is an active pilot.

The highly successful WT9 first flew in 2001 and is now in its 7th major design iteration with over 1,000 having been constructed. Although early models may look much the same as the current ones, the structure and detailed design has been substantially developed. The construction is based on composite material with the controls all operated by low-friction push rods with the exception of the rudder.
The 17 early examples currently on the UK register were built to an original BCAR(S) standard and certified to 450kg. The UK versions all required a number of modifications, compared to machines on the Continent, to ensure compliance with that standard.
A policy of Continuous Improvement underpins everything Aerospool undertakes, and even a cursory look at their production standards, confirms this. Current models reveal significant structural and aerodynamic developments; the design has certainly moved with the times with the type now certified in the United Kingdom are 600kg LSM aircraft (Light Storts Microlight).
The very latest version is the Dynamic WT9 600 NG reveals many other developments not the least being a Rotax 916iS engine with a hydraulically actuated constant speed propeller coupled with changes to the fuselage aerodynamics including a larger tail and extended nose coupled with an overall increase in the strength of the structure.
It is in essence a substantially new design with a huge increase in performance including a cruising speed in excess of 160 kts, a rate of climb in the order of 2,000 ft/min and a cruising fuel consumption at this speed in the order of 20 l/hr. (Figures quoted are for the RG (Retractable Gear) version.)
In many countries the earlier Rotax 914 version has become a popular glider towing aircraft and it is clear from sales in other countries that the new Dynamic 916 NG is already well established in this role and far superior.
Not only is this new version proven to deliver outstanding performance coupled with miserly fuel consumption and very low operating costs, but it is a very low-maintenance design and in the UK the maintenance regime is under the auspices of the BMAA (British Microlight Aircraft Association) or the LAA (Light Aircraft Association).
When used for towing gliders the relevant statistics have been proved from over a year’s operation
- 12 tows per hour, including towing some gliders weighing 850kg.
- Less than 2.6 litres of fuel (UL91 or Mogas) per tow.
- And, of course, largely owner maintenance with a huge cost saving compared to older tow aircraft.
